Food data sources
Values describe reference foods or published recipes. They are not measurements of your exact meal. Portions, preparation, markets and formulations can change results.
General foods
USDA Food and Nutrient Database for Dietary Studies (FNDDS), 2021–2023. Source and downloads. Names may be simplified and portions converted for display. USDA does not endorse Wellportion.
Indian recipes
Indian Nutrient Databank (INDB), Anuvaad Solutions, edition 2024.11. Vijayakumar A, Dubasi HB, Awasthi A, Jaacks LM. Development of an Indian Food Composition Database (2024). Source, methodology and recipe data. Values are per published recipe and serving; a home-cooked version may differ.
Packaged foods
Information from Open Food Facts is available under the Open Database License. See its terms of use and reuse. Lookup results are separate from the bundled USDA/INDB directories; private user journals are not offered as an open food database. Check the physical package for current values.
Fast-food menus
The menu picker links each publication and identifies its market, edition and historical status. Restaurant names identify foods; Wellportion is not endorsed by those businesses. No restaurant logos are used. Rights and reuse terms vary by publisher.
Your label and manual entries
You review extracted values and select the amount eaten before saving. Recognition and serving estimates can be wrong. Verify allergens and dietary restrictions against the current package or restaurant.
